Stanley Park Totem Poles
About this point of interest
Overview
The Stanley Park Totem Poles at Brockton Point are one of British Columbia’s most visited tourist attractions. These towering monuments tell stories about the First Nations that lived in the region and are one of the most recognizable symbols of western Canada. Since the 1920s, the Vancouver Parks Board has been collecting, transporting, and installing intricately carved totem poles from remote locations across the province. Other First Nations art at the landmark include “Raven: Spirit of Transformation,” which was created from a Douglas fir tree stump left after a 2006 windstorm destroyed Stanley Park. To explore the totem poles with the help of a live tour guide, book Gray Line Westcoast Sightseeing’s Vancouver Lookout & City Bus Tour.
