English Bay

About this point of interest

Overview

English Bay is located west of downtown Vancouver’s peninsula and False Creek. One of the most popular beaches in the downtown area, English Bay’s sands are always filled with sunbathers, swimmers, and nature enthusiasts soaking up the stunning ocean views. It’s at English Bay that you’ll also find the famous Vancouver Seawall, a barrier constructed to combat erosion on Stanley Park’s foreshore. Along with its critical environmental purpose, the Vancouver Seawall is a popular place for cyclists, runners, and rollerbladers. It is also home to A-maze-ing Laughter, a sculpture installation composed of 14 statues. Each individual statue measures 3 meters in height and weighs just over 250 kilograms (551 lbs). You can visit English Bay on our Stanley Park + City Twilight Tour.
