Overview

A visit to the Capilano River Hatchery is an excellent hands-on way to learn about the life cycle of local Coho and Steelhead Salmon. Become educated on salmon sustainability practices at the hatchery and within the local area. Depending on the season, you may see juvenile salmon and trout in the display aquarium. Be sure to visit the observation gallery’s “Fishway” to watch how salmon climb the fish ladders by jumping from one pool to the next. It’s truly exciting for children and adults alike!
