Location: North Vancouver
Grouse Mountain Resort

Overview

If you’re in downtown Vancouver, it’s pretty hard to miss Grouse Mountain towering over your shoulder. This iconic mountain is only 15 minutes from the city, which makes it a popular outdoor playground for locals and tourists alike. Rising 1,250 meters (4,100 feet) above sea level, Grouse Mountain offers skiing, hiking, and many other outdoor activities. Catch the SkyRide Gondola to the peak and watch a show at the Theatre in the Sky. Visit the Refuge for Endangered Wildlife and finish your day with dinner and a drink at the Grouse Mountain Resort. Home to the famous Grouse Grind, the mountain regularly hosts a grueling 2.9 km (1.8 miles) upward race that requires participants to climb 2,830 stairs. In the winter, guests can go ice skating, sleighing, and snowshoeing while enjoying the Peak of Christmas celebration. In spring and summer, you can visit the Grizzly Bears in the Wildlife Refuge, watch a lumberjack show, or take a guided eco-walk around the area.
